15-5-10 - Mountain 5 def Woongarrah 0
Another week and another win, our consistency is really starting to pay off. No one more consistent than Sammy after a game that saw him walk away with another 3 goals, bringing him to a total of 9 goals (yes you read correctly) in 3 games. Chris Jack had a great defensive game and is really showing that he can time a tackle to perfection, Nathan had a awesome game in his role and defensive mid field and continue to impress us in the second half in goals. Naomi showed that all those ball skills are paying off and had a great game in the back and is showing a marked improvement in her defence and fitness. Way to go Naomi. Chantelle was back after a few weeks off and is going from strength to strength. Blake adapted to playing stopper without any issues and Jayden and his speed is showing that he is an awesome sweeper. Fergus is another player who is being incredibly consistency claiming his second clean sheet in a row. He also had a great run in the mid field in the second half. Christos came breathtakingly close scoring his first of the season. Mason, my quite achiever scored a very impressive goal indeed. Lucas showed us what makes him a great striker by forces a goalie error and capitalizing by putting the spilt ball away. The highlight for me had to be Sammy’s freekick, boy he can bend it like Beckham. Lochie continues to dominate with his speed and determination and was unlucky to not get on the score sheet.

The stand out performer today was Jayden “The pocket rocket, speed demon, super sweeper” Schembri and for he is our player of the match!

Special Thanks to Woongarrah FC for their donation of $100 to be donated to Royal North Shore Hospitals Intensive Care Unit on behalf of the Pirrottina Family. This was presented to Sammy! Watch this space for the photo.

8-5-10 - Mountain 7 Def Ourimbah 0
What a great game. The players show their passing skills and teamwork to achieve a great result. It only took Sammy 43 seconds to get his 1st shot off, and I’m sure the cross bar rattled for the rest of the game. After a brief injury scare minutes later, Sammy aka Spaghetti Legs wiggled and weaved his way through the Ourimbah defence with his ‘fairy feet’ and scored 3 from the field (2 were actually well outside 18 yard box) and put away a penalty with the precision of a seasoned professional. Lucas was unlucky a number of times on the back post but eventually showed that he can not only score a cracker with his noggin’ but he is quite the gymnast with a beautiful forward roll (or determined stumble) to finish it off, All class Champ! Lochie put through a number of first class crosses as Mason, Sammy, Lucas, Chris J and Blake continued to cause the Ourimbah keeper some grief. It was great to see Chris J have a run in the Centre-mid field likewise for Naomi to have a run up the front , Chris J got on the score sheet with his ‘I went to head the ball but it hit my hand and ended up in the back of the net goal’ and despite telling the referee she had already awarded goal, great sportsmanship buddy. Jayden aka the Super Sweeper was everywhere and used his speed to run down the opposition on the rare occasion they got through our backs. Naomi, Nathan, Imogen and Blake are certainly a force to content in the back line. Imogen is showing some great improvement and confidence in attacking the ball. Fergus was given a little rest in the goals after a hectic game the week before. Nathan went in goals in the second half to give Fergus a run (or maybe he was exhausted after playing in the Mids in that heat). Blake had a great shot from outside the 18 yard, which was just one of many fantastic goals saved by the gutsy Ourimbah custodian. Mason got on the scored to finish off the scoring after a rare spill by the Ourimbah keeper. I loved Mason’s aeroplane celebration after his goal, however Sammy definitely was the stand out performer, way to go captain. You guys rock my socks off!

1-5-10 - Budgewoi 7 Def Mountains 6
It was a cold and foggy morning at Bloodtree oval. We really turned on our great weather for Budgewoi (and for Lochie celebrating his 12th Birthday). Looking like we were going to have to take the field with only 10, the Under 12’s came to the rescue through Sarah, Amelia and Angus and they really stepped up! It was awesome to welcome Imogen and Sammy back into our line up and thank his Uncle Charlie for his vocal support and encouragement. A game with such a high scoring game implies that there was very little defence but this is not the case. All 13 goals were beautiful, especially Sammy’s second. Budgewoi kept Fergus busy, actually at times he looked like he was in a pinball machine, he was amazing. Some very nice foot work from Mason saw him get on the score sheet as did Lochie who is always impressive. Jayden Certainly had his weetbix and never stopped while Chris J showed his unique ability to read the ball and time his tackles to perfection. Nathan continued to control our back line and put some awesome balls through to the middle, Naomi continues to gain confidence and had cracker of a 2nd Half (actually the best I’d seen her play). Imogen and Christos proved themselves to be double trouble on the right, as they double teamed players to force some important Budgewoi errors. As the lead changed numerous time and the clock against us, Mason let fly with an absolute rocket that hit the underside of the Cross Bar (Unlucky Souvlaki) It was a shame to not come away with a win but you can’t be anything but proud when the team plays as well as they did. It’s certainly one of those games when picking a player of the match is almost impossible but anyone who was there would agree that Fergus showed great skill, determination, team spirit and above all a hell of a lot of ticker (Heart) and for all that he took out the honour. Special mention has to go to Sammy who played fantastic and Naomi not only played well but is really making a point of applying what we do in training to her game.
So proud of you crazy kids!

17-4-10 - The Entrance 8 Mountains 1
13's only had 8 players for today's game however showed tremendous fighting spirit and did everything they could considering the circumstances Jayden had some fantastic shots at goal while Fergus did a great job as it was a very busy day for him.

10-4-10 - A win to start the Season Mtns 8 def Woy Woy 2

While Imogen soaked up the sun in Fiji and Nathan enjoyed his holiday, the 13’s were left to take the field with no subs. After a pep talk and a new team song we took the field against Woy Woy and conceded a quick goal, looking briefly looked rattled we came back with an equalizer (Thanks Mason) which was the start of a goal rush.  Lochie pulled off some awesome saves and bagged a few goals when he came out in the second half, Fergus had a run in the Mids and saved a penalty in the second half (Way to go Fergus).  Blake kept the back line under control while Naomi and Chantelle did it for the girls. Our backs are awesome, Chris Jack had a great game (I love how his boots match our match ball), he seemed to be everywhere as did Christos who showed a great deal of ticker when chasing down the ball.  Sammy foot work was in fine form and sent a few over the bar (Next time Champ).  Lochie tried to destroy the clubs new nets with a goal that can be likened to a rocket while Lucas scored a couple and had some shots that I’m sure the goal keeper will have nightmare about.  Mason had a cracker of a game, scored a ripper and played some awesome balls through. Jayden (Like all the Schembri) Ran and Ran and scored and ran some more.  Naomi took one in the chops for the team and showed some great awareness keeping Woy Woy offside and Chantelle keeps going from strength to strength.   Great job guys, really proud of your team work today.
